Discover the Maritime Academy
Excellence Set Afloat
The 2026 arrival of the TS Lone Star State marks a defining moment for the Texas A&M Maritime Academy and the cadets who will train aboard its most advanced vessel yet. Following a decades-long pursuit of a dedicated training ship, Aggie mariners now have an exceptional environment to gain the hands-on experience required for careers at sea.
Made even more meaningful by the generosity that continues to advance maritime education at Texas A&M, this milestone offers donors an opportunity to build upon that momentum — providing the resources, experiences and opportunities that prepare the next generation of maritime leaders.
Leading the Way at Sea
For more than 60 years, the Texas A&M Maritime Academy has prepared cadets to lead in one of the world’s most essential industries. The academy provides a one-of-a-kind educational experience where classroom learning meets hands-on training at sea.
Through rigorous coursework in navigation, ship safety, vessel operations and other maritime subjects, cadets gain the technical expertise needed to earn professional licenses. Immersive field experiences and summer sea terms further develop the discipline and leadership required to navigate the ever-evolving tides of global maritime commerce.
Fueling Maritime Futures
Every gift to the Texas A&M Maritime Academy helps remove financial barriers for cadets pursuing careers at sea, supporting tuition, required sea terms, equipment and Coast Guard licensing exams. Your investment ensures students can fully engage in hands-on training while building a lasting legacy for Aggies by the Sea.
Support includes maritime and marine scholarships and summer sea term scholarships for cadets completing required training voyages and preparing for their third mate’s license.
